Being as proud as we are at Dairy Day about the care and attention that goes into making our cheeses – you can imagine our delight when we got a call from Channel 4 asking if they could come to film us making our best-selling Halloumi.
Now in its 19th series, “Food Unwrapped” has featured famous brands from across the UK. We knew that by showing viewers of this popular programme the care and attention that goes into our Halloumi, even more food-lovers would find out about our fantastic cheeses, yoghurts and fresh dips.
As one of the only Halloumi manufacturers in the UK we occupy a unique position for shops and restaurants looking to stock British made – that, together with our brand-new factory in Hertfordshire made us the perfect brand to feature on the show.
Dairy Day founder Chadi Kassem was delighted to share his passion for Dairy Day’s Halloumi as he welcomed presenter and chef Andi Oliver onto the factory floor. Demonstrating our processes from start to finish, Chadi described to Andi how quality begins with the locally sourced cow’s milk we use.

Andi was keen to understand the environmentally friendly design of the Dairy Day factory and how we keep everything sparkling clean and safe for production. But it was the end result that she was most interested in and after watching the entire process that goes into making our Halloumi, she couldn’t wait to have a taste.
The verdict – Andi loved the texture and flavour of our signature cheese and told Chadi – “This is the best Halloumi I have ever tried!”
We already knew that of course – but great to hear it from a renowned chef and judge on the BBC’s “Great British Menu”.
